With the exception of James Bond or Doctor Who, where we are all used to the role being passed from actor to actor, very quickly certain characters become inseparably associated with the actors that play them, engrained in our minds with a particular face, and voice.

However, the actors we see on screen are not always the first choice, or those that auditioned for the role.

We ask our visiting Casting Directors to take us through some of the ‘alternative’ choices for various roles they have cast, revealing some of the actors who auditioned for well-know TV and Film roles but who either did not get the part, or were not available when the time to shoot came, leaving the door open for other actors who became known and loved for those roles.
